On Sunday 24th April the great and the good congregated at Baypoint Sports Club for a mini walking football tournament in aid of cancer research. Three teams from Baycity Strollers took part, along with teams from Sheppey, Folkestone and the Sticky Wicket (Ramsgate). 

The format saw each team playing each other once over a fifteen minute game. All games were refereed seamlessly by John McKellar and Michael (sorry don’t know his surname). 

All games were played in a good spirit with lots of banter and laughter. 

At the end of the day’s proceedings players congregated in the bar for refreshments and food.

A total of £160 was raised on the day and will be added to the £88.50 already collected from a previous event on the 3rd April. A grand total of £248.50 for cancer research so far with other events planned.
