Local derby day with some mist in the air.
The game started with Ramsgate pressing high and BayCity Strollers (BCS) struggling to get out of their half. This caused some nervousness amongst the players resulting in an early goal for the Rams. BCS settled down after this setback to play some decent football and create chances. The Rams defence were giving away free kicks on the edge of the D regularly however BCS could not convert these into goals. Before halftime some good build up play found Ian clear in front of goal with his shot only just missing the target.
The 2nd half was much the same as the first, good build up play, just lacking the finishing touch. Ramsgate got their 2nd goal of the game with a speculative / lucky strike from out wide. Pete had no chance as it went in top corner. Pete did make the save of the match diving to his right and somehow getting up to block the follow up.
To summarise, BCS were getting the ball into good attacking positions but not being able to score due to composure and no luck in equal measures. Thanks to Chris Smith for refereeing a good game played in the right spirit.
