BayCity Strollers presentation evening took place on Saturday 21st June at Baypoint Sports Club. The event was well supported with 27 members attending, some with partners, family and friends.

 

This was the first time in the club’s history that it had held a separate presentation evening with a disco etc. since forming in 2014, previously yearly awards were given out at the club’s AGM.

 

The evening got underway with the presentation of awards for both the Over 50s and Over 60s Kent Walking Football League teams. Team Captains, Dave Beale and Jim Dobson gave a brief review of the season before handing out the awards. This year all squad members who played received a medal to acknowledge their involvement. Other awards given out on the night were as follows:

 

Over 50s:

Captain’s Player of the year – Ian Syrett 

Players Player of the year – Adrian Dawson

Top Goal Scorer of the year – Scott Blackgrove

Prawn of the year – Nick Heyworth

 

Over 60s: 

Captain’s Player of the year – Colin Johnson

Players Player of the year – Kevin Joyce

Top Goal Scorers of the year – Kevin Joyce and Les Adsett

 

 

The awards were then followed by a raffle, with half of the proceeds being donated to Prostate Cancer UK;  this raised £150 for the charity. Thank you to everyone who donated a raffle prize. 

 

A disco with DJ Chas was then enjoyed as well as a lovely spread prepared by the kitchen at Baypoint Sports Club. Thanks also go to Andrew Lamont and the staff at Baypoint for making the evening a success.
