This was BayCity’s third match against deal in the last 5 weeks.

 

With both teams fielding strong squads on a rather hot Sunday morning the game started at a relatively slow pace.

 

Despite BayCity creating more chances, it was Darren at the other end who kept BayCity in the game with a great save which saw him diving down to his left and tipping the ball just past the post.

 

With 15 minutes gone BayCity made 4 subs and as a result started to pile on the pressure. A nice through ball to Ian saw him go past the defender and slot the ball home for the first goal of the game.  It wasn’t long after that Ian made his way to the left-hand side of the box, this allowed Michael to slide the ball through the defence which gave Ian time to slot home for his second of the game.

 

Half time 2 – 0 BayCity

 

The second half started similarly to the first half but it wasn’t long before both teams were treading a fine line with 3 warnings for running each.

 

It was Deal who were first to 4 warnings which allowed BayCity to go three nil up with a well taken penalty from Ade.

 

It wasn’t long before BayCity committed their fourth running offence which allowed Deal to pull one back from the spot.

 

BayCity kept on the pressure and it wasn’t long before Dave took on three defenders with some nice control and tucked the ball past the keeper.

 

With 5 minutes remaining Paul somehow managed to nutmeg himself and the defender which allowed him to latch on to the ball and slide it past the keeper.

 

Overall a good match played by both teams, and despite the heat, it was contested in a good spirit along with refereeing from Chris Smith and some excellent goalkeeping from the Deal keeper.
