A windy Thursday night in Margate was the setting for BayCity’s 2nd away game this season against Margate 50s who have had a good start to the season.  BCS started as they left off from the last game knocking the ball around quickly and testing their keeper early doors. Ada missed a one on one giving the keeper the wrong eyes.

 

Sub: 10 minutes Danny on for a boisterous Kingy.

 

BayCity carried on peppering the Margate goal with Margate having rare attacks which Matt in goal dealt with. Just before half-time Ada tucked the ball in the corner of the net but the ref apparently blew for a foul for us just before Ada shot.

 

HT 0-0

The 2nd half followed the same pattern as the first although BCS played most of the half on 3 running offences but it didn’t stop us moving the ball around; the 3 touch training really came into its own tonight.  Phil was getting to grips with the red and white lines and was at his best twisting and turning, and could have had a few goals on a different night.

A long ball from Kingy set Ada up who this time got his eyes sorted and slotted home 0-1. Being a Thursday night away game it was only fitting Ada then swung handbags with Margate’s skipper and both were blue carded.  BayCity held firm and with Matt dealing with everything that got past the defence the final whistle went and BayCity came away with 3 deserved points and a second clean sheet in a row.  A great performance and effort from everyone.
