A nice mild spring night greeted the visitors BayCity (BCS) to Herne Bay FC . Nice pitch shame about the lighting though, as it seemed only half the lights were working . It didn’t deter the visitors as BCS started brightly pinning the league leaders back with some nice attacking football . Reward came eventually with Nick W smashing the ball home after some nice quick passing .
The hosts were rattled as Phil, Dave and Paul tested the keeper, however, Herne Bay are top of the league for a reason and they capitalised on a couple of mistakes and went in at the break 2-1 up .
The second half was all the hosts and they scored not long after the restart .
Sub . Jason on for Mark
Kingy having a great game at the back stopped attack after attack and if the hosts did get past him Dom in goal was also having a blinder. Herne Bay’s 4th did come though after yet another mistake. Last 5 mins was all BCS pressing but to no avail .
FT 4-1
Although the scoreline suggests BCS were well beaten, that is far from the truth as BCS gave as good as they got . Kingy was outstanding again at the back and just popped Dom for man of the match. Good to see Jason back after injury, but the day belonged to Mark who finally made his debut on his 50th birthday.
Thanks to those who came and supported us.
Margate next.
Onwards and upwards.
