A bright start from the Strollers was in the end in vain as Sticky Wicket came out on top in a 7 goal thriller. Several long efforts on the away goal either went narrowly wide, were well saved or struck the post , with Ada and Phil pulling the strings it wasn’t long before Phil the new Vice Captain for the 50s got his first of the game with a well placed effort.

The away team came out strongly for the second half and Lawrence made 3 superb saves before Kevin put us 2 up.  After this we seemed to lose our way and conceded 4 without reply before Phil pulled a goal back and despite our best efforts we couldn’t get an equaliser.

On the whole a good work out against a team containing a number of opponents with league experience. We also had Chris Smith as referee to show us the standard for our upcoming season; needless to say he kept everyone under control with only one sin bin required.
