A sunny Sunday morning saw Canterbury the opposition for the first of 3 home games that will complete the season for 2025/26.

 

For the first time I won the toss and elected to KO. Canterbury changed ends so we faced the sun in the first half.

 

Pete looking the part in his new orange cap continued from where he left off on Thursday with some smart saves. That was until a Canterbury player hit the top corner with an unstoppable shot.

 

Just before half time we had the opportunity to equalise after a penalty was given for encroachment of the area. Ian took the penalty and unfortunately it was saved.

 

Halftime 0-1

 

Second half started and we quickly equalised with a good finish from Ian, 1-1.

 

1-1 soon became 2-1 as Ian scored his second goal set up by Nobby.

 

The game was going from end to end as Margate looked for a leveller. It came and we were back all square.

 

Time was ticking away when Ian scored his hat-trick, 3-2.

 

Unfortunately with a couple of minutes left we gave away a penalty for a 4th running offence. Canterbury equalised to share the points. Credit to Canterbury for the way they played the game, in contrast to the game a few days before.
