15/6/2020: Coronavirus – Contacting all members re: gradual restart

The BCS Committee have been in weekly contact throughout the period of lockdown in order to monitor developments regarding the Covid 19 situation, and how that might affect our walking football activities.  We have also drawn up a Risk Assessment for recommencing our sessions and will be sending this to all members.

John has had meetings with the new managers at BayPoint and they have offered us a free Saturday afternoon session on the grass pitches to start things off.  Participants would be able to purchase food and drink from an outside area at the rear of the venue.  We are emailing all members this week to find out how many people would be interested in taking part in this.

There is no prospect just yet for a return to Monday evening sessions, nor of opening the clubhouse, and the state of the floodlights does cause concern when considering a return to ‘normal’ evenings in the autumn.  We are therefore considering the possibility of changing our regular sessions to a Saturday or Sunday morning, at least until such time as the evening sessions can take place again.  We are also asking members to indicate whether they would be willing/able to make regular Saturday or Sunday mornings.

  1. Your site looks great but I did notice that the word “jewellery” appears to be spelled incorrectly. I saw a couple small issues like this. I thought you would like to know!

In case you wanted to fix it, in the past we’ve used services from a websites like HelloSpell.com to keep our site error-free.

Thanks for the comment, Randy. A bit specific for a footballing website – and wrong to boot! Jewellery is the preferred spelling in UK English, and the alternative spelling of jewelry is the USA preference.

You might get HelloSpell to have a look at your comments too: “from a websites” (sic). (Sorry – couldn’t resist!)
