A foggy march Sunday saw Ethelbert visit BayCity Strollers (BCS) for this 50s league match which kicked off super Sunday at Baypoint. A great start from the hosts with Phil who unpacked his dancing shoes to grab an early goal with a clever finish. Once BCS settled down Ethelbert were no match for the quick passing football and it wasn’t long before Ian grabbed his first of the season with a great finish. Dom pulled off a full stretch finger tip save from a rare Ethelbert attack.The rest of the first half saw BCS control the game and just before half time Tony scored a screamer from a free-kick.

 

HT 3-0.

The second half started a little different as Ethelbert pushed more forward and had BCS under a bit of pressure which was rewarded with a penalty.  This kicked BCS back into gear and after a flurry of free kicks awarded to BCS, Nick W grabbed his goal with another good finish from some nice quick passing from the hosts .

Tony grabbed his brace from the penalty spot to wrap up the points for a nice Sunday mornings work .

 

Lots of positives from the game, especially when we settle down and play the quick passing but maybe still need to work on the tackling.  Canterbury away next week.
