BayCity Strollers (BCS) first away game of the season saw them travel to Herne Bay FC and play Ethelbert Wanderers on one of the nicest pitches of the season.

 

A nervous start from BCS saw a lot of passes go astray as we struggled to get to grips with a new formation.  A couple of mistakes led to Ethelbert having a couple of half chances but then BCS seemed to click. Passes were to feet and chance after chance either went over, wide or the home sides keeper was pulling off save after save. 3 Running offences in the first half ( not one was Kingy ) slowed BCS down which actually helped by keeping the ball moving.

 

HT 0-0

 

A few words and adjustments at the break worked wonders at half-time as straight after the break Phil showed us his dancing feet again and tucked away the opener 0-1. BCS had settled by now and knocked the ball about quickly and it wasn’t long before Tony tucked away the 2nd. 0-2.

Ethelbert had no answer for BCS quick movement of the ball and their keeper had to again pull off save after save.  A free kick just outside the area was sweetly struck for Tony’s 2nd of the game . No more running offences in the 2nd half capped off a good all round performance.
