4/08/2024 : Peter Cadogan Memorial Cup

For the most part the sun shone on us for the 3rd edition of our annual charity tournament. With Baypoint very generously letting us have the pitch and refreshments free of charge this meant that everything we collected would be passed on to Prostate Cancer UK.

It was a nice change for us to play on the grass, the large penalty areas and small goals meant that chances would have to be taken to come out on top. There was some great walking football played with the Ramsgits just coming out on top; Rob Pugh probably being their top performer and a nice finish from an acute angle from Andy Ridler.

Dan from the Cadogan contingent was chosen by our “Comes to us all” group as the player of the day, his shining moment came in the last minute of the last game making a superb save to deny BCS Originals a winning goal which would have given them overall victory. Nice to see Martin rolling back the years with two expertly taken goals to be top scorer on the day.

A well deserved cold drink satisfying our thirst as we finished playing was followed by a quick count up. At the time of writing we are up to £750, a fantastic effort thank you to everyone who played and supported the event, not forgetting John Mc and Angelo who was pretty much press ganged into refereeing at the last moment and George and Gordon for captaining the Whitstable Sunsets and Up Pompey.
