BayCity’s 2nd year at this tournament narrowly missing out last year it was a chance to put that right.  The teams this year were a lot stronger so will be a tough day.

First game pit us against reigning Kent champions Bexley . This was a tough game and Bexley showed their quality but with a different tactical approach BCS held firm and then Darren robbed their defender and placed the ball between the keepers legs .  1-0 BCS.
The game continued along the same pattern then Dave took advantage of a misplaced pass and slotted home for a 2nd BCS goal and secured the 3 points for an epic win.

2nd game was also a very tough game against serial tournament winners Tonbridge who had won the last 5 tournaments they participated in . A great defensive performance all round especially from Dom our goalkeeper and the score stayed 0-0 for another epic result.

Game 3 saw us play tournament organisers Canterbury . This was a game either side could have won but I think the heat had got to both teams as a 0-0 with not many chances game ensued.

Ashford were the 4th opponents and again defensively BCS did not put a foot wrong . Dave found a marauding Kingy who smashed his shot off the post to open the scoring and secure the 3 points 1-0.

Last game of the day were old foes Woodnesborough and a win would have secured the cup. BCS started well defending everything thrown at them but we’re not really in trouble . A quick thru ball from Dave found Darren to blast home for his second of the tournament BCS 1-0. The woodies curse struck tho as out of nothing a snapshot beat Dom who to his credit only conceded this goal all tournament. Game ended 1-1.

A nervy wait for the last games to finish but it was soon confirmed BayCity Strollers 50s had won their first ever tournament. 3 years we have waited for this and have come close on a few occasions but we finally got one over the line.

The whole squad deserve utmost credit for this .We all played as a team and for each other . Dom was outstanding in goal especially against Tonbridge . Kingy stuck to his task at the back and reward came with a goal . Ada,Phil,Mark,Dave,Ian and Darren all gave 100% today and stuck to the plan we had.
