A breezy start to the day turned out to be a hot one as Bay City travelled to Chatham FC as sole representatives from the east . A really well organised tournament that included the best teams from the west and central divisions . A 2 group format set us up in group B and alongside  Ebbsfleet ,Chatham , Tonbridge Angels and Little common … Little common failed to show so all teams were awarded a 2-0 win.

 

First up was old foes Ebbsfleet who are a bit of a bogey team but Bay city turned that around today  a 1-0 win the goal scored by Dave .

 

Second game bought us back to earth as we played eventual tournament winners and lost 2 -0 . It was quite an even game everyone played well but the skipper Dave let everyone down by telling the ref what he thought of him …red card . We were already losing and the dismissal didn’t help things .. Apologies made and we moved on.

 

Chatham Ballers were next who thought running was the norm and the ref agreed apparently. A good team who nicked a goal near the end so another loss 1-0.

Next up was the plate semi final.

 

We were paired with a team called Black lion who I thought would of prefer being in a fashion show . A couple of them thinking it was ok to wear designer sunglasses . A close fought game ended 0-0 and onto penalties . Dom performed heroics in goal saving all the penalties as Dave and Ada tucked away theirs.

 

 

Plate final

 

We were drawn against Ebbsfleet our old foes again . They were really up for this . But it was a superb backs to the wall performance from everyone that denied them revenge .The game ended 0-0 and onto penalties . Dom saved their last penalty which saw Dave Ada and Phil’s penalties scored give Bay City a deserved plate final victory.

 

Absolutely top drawer goalkeeping from Dom earned us the trophy but also the defensive work from Simon complimented that . Another good debut from Carl who has only just getting to grips with Walking football .. Ian Phil Nick H Ada and Dave put in a great shift and the Tournaments Pretty Boy Darren also gave it his all.

 

A great day of football with a  great bunch of lads.
